Allmand Boats?

I just participated in a salvage job for the Coast Guard near Bay St. Louis, MS. We removed a sunken sailboat that was marked with a hull number that indicated it was an Allmand. Roughly thirty ft. LOA. It was destroyed in the process but I was just wondering if anyone knew the history of these boats. There is not much to be found on the net. I'm just curious because I'd never heard of this manufacturer.

Allmand made sailboats for awile. Ive seen a few before, and they are nice boats from what ive seen.
