for all you northern Maryland chessapeakers

Would appreciate any info on a launch site up the bay from Annapolis that would give me a good 3-4 hour sail. This would include leaving the vechicle and a trailer overnight.Anyone done this?

Rock Hall has 3 public landings, but a permit is required. 10 minutes to the Bay.

RE: upper chesapeake boat ramps

There's a boat ramp at Worton Creek also. There too you'd need a permit. If I recall correctly there are a few places that sell them fairly close by.

Sandy Point state park right by the bay bridge might be another option...

While traveling interstate 95 a few weeks ago I stopped at a rest stop in Virginia. Among they free publications they had a "Public Access Guide" for the Chesapeake. It's a map listing hundreds of boat ramps, fishing piers, etc. It looks pretty comprehensive for the entire Chesapeake and Susquehanna river.

It can also be ordered online at Publications - Brochures - Chesapeake Bay Program. It would be nice if they had a pdf of it online, but they don't.

There's a ramp you can use for a fee at Bohemia Vista on the Bohemia River. They have a lot you could leave you car and trailer in overnight. I think there is also a ramp at Elk Neck State Park on the Elk River, but I could be wrong about that one.
