Any Yeoman Sport XL users out there?

Hello All! I have come across a 1990 Yeoman Sport XL of dubious condition for sale and was curious if I could get responses from current users concerning their experiences.

My major concern is whether I could attach my handheld Garmin GPS to the unit (didn''t GPS technology become accessible in the
mid-90''s?) The seller doesn''t seem to know.

All comments appreciated. (I say dubious because it doesn''t come with a power cord or manual.)

J:

Since we''ve used the Yeoman Navigator Pro for a few years, I''ve got a passing familiarity with the Sport. To be sure, it was designed with the intent of being linked to a GPS as that''s its one and only claim: it allows one to interface GPS-accurate data to paper charts. IME Yeoman had Garmin devices primarily in mind when designing their software; you should find the products fully compatible. However, you may need the relevant manual when hooking up the NMEA data wires from the GPS...or you can just experiment a bit. I believe that Weems & Plath in Annapolis, MD still represents Yeoman in the U.S.
