San Francisco Bay in December

Hi all,

I've been to California a few times but have never sailed out there. I will be in San Francisco the first week in December for work and I'm curious about the sailing weather. I was thinking about chartering a smallish boat for a day. Any suggestions from those with local knowledge? Am I crazy?

Why would you be crazy? We sail all year long here. Winter is a bit of a crap shoot as far as wind goes and of course, the chance for rain is higher, but otherwise, no reason not to plan on a sail.

OCSC is a sailing school/club in Berkeley with a wide variety of well-maintained boats to charter. Check 'em out here:

Thanks, I figured that would be the answer. Here is Texas, I like to sail in the spring, winter, and fall. Summer is hot and usually not very windy.
