shoutout for Winthrop Ma

My husband and I trailered our Catalina 22 to Winthrop Ma. We launched her at Crystal Cove Marina and sailed around Boston harbor. It was a great place to sail and access Boston from; (we took a temporary slip and had lunch in Boston.) There was so much sailing opportunity and a friendly community in Winthrop.

I love sailing in Boston Harbor and its a blast exploring the islands, or just catching a mooring and relaxing. If you can, check out the fort on George's Island it is amazing.

Last year I crewed for a guy that moored his boat in Winthrop. It was near a public ramp, but I can't remember the name of the yacht club he rented from. But the club had friendly people, reasonably priced beer and great steak tips.

Are you from Massachusetts?

nolatom will become famous soon enough
Good for you. As a college sailor many decades ago, I sailed out of Winthrop and the Cottage Park Yach Club a couple of times, and boy was that water cold in the spring but the hospitality was warm. It's a good town, glad you found it. I grew up in Marblehead but have been down south here for a long time..
