How they cope with > 25 deg heeling..

My kids call it the Astronaut....my wife calls it zero gravity back relaxing technique...

I call them crazy..but that's what they like, and what they do when the wind pipes up, and we need to move...(gotta get there fast to get the best spots...you know..)

My "ASTRONAUTS"..funny thing is Luis is really getting his sea legs...never falls over...

All I can think of is those people that have trouble adapting or having the wife adapt...let them try it...maybe they like it...

LOL! If there was room for that in my cockpit, I'm sure my wife would do it. It never makes her nervous, I asked her once why and she said "because I'm confident you know what you're doing" I said "ok" but was thinking "yikes! I really don't" Well, I guess I do, I know how to spill wind and reduce sail

Alex has his family well trained. I also wish my cockpit floor was big enough for what his family is doing in the pics.
I also do not own a Laser on steroids so heeling is fun but perhaps not as comfortable as his crew has found a way to make it. 'Astronauts' perhaps they are.

Those pictures are great!!! I'm sharing with my wife so she can see others having as much fun as we have. (Of course, I'm lucky. My wife would be just coming up with a stack of hot food for everyone to eat. Don't ask me how she does it, but it sure hits the spot when you're sailing.)

With such a wide cockpit, what do you do to brace yourself when sitting upright like 'normal' humans? I've seen foot bars on some boats for bracing.
My cockpit is just barely too wide to brace across to the other side but too narrow to add a brace.

Have you thought about making the cockpit a bit narrower by extending the cockpit benches slightly. Did that on a friend's boat by adding a 4" wide storage locker to each cockpit bench... The locker ended up being really nice for storing binoculars, charts, docklines, a couple of throwable PFDs, the heaving line, and we added a two clips for handheld flares, one red, one white in each locker lid.
