She is using a Mac. She goes to Baker University in Baldwin KS. It's a small, but very good private school just south of Lawrence and KU. She's actually double majoring in journalism and secondary education. She wants to teach journalism to high school kids.

The best part of her going to Baker is the cost. The school is normally 27K per year, but with the scholarships she got I only pay 1700 plus books per semester.

Smart girl...sounds like a good deal for you too. If she needs/wants connections in journalism, I know lots of people in the field... PM me if she wants some contacts.

Please tell your journalist daughter that the job of a journalist is to report the news. Not make the news, not change the world, not advocate for a particular cause. Report the facts and let the readers/viewers make up their own minds.
Not saying she is doing this, just saying this is the trend in journalism and it is infecting & damaging the 4th estate.

Yeah, just look at the newspaper stories about that boat that "washed up" on the beach in NH that MaineSail mentioned.

Thanks Dog. I'll let her know. I really did get lucky to have such a good kid that has lots of brains (got that from me ) and works really hard (didn't get that from me). I don't know anyone who's putting their kid through a private college for less money than me. Now if I can get my boy motivated. He's smarter than my daughter, but works half as hard.


Xort, I don't think we'll have to worry about my daughter pushing an agenda in any news stories. She wants to teach high school journalism. The biggest media bias she'll be facing is "our team is better than your team".
