catamaran on great lakes?
 
would a catamaran be good ON lake erie? I dont recall ever seeing any over 20'' everything Ive read points to them being a good choice due to the water level. am I missing something?

The big drawback for cats or tri''s is the docking issue. They can''t fit into most slips. Most multihulls I''ve seen on Lake St. Clare have been trailerable. The hassle of trailering, setting up, then taking down at the end of day does limit their use. Also, I know that that the western end of Lake Erie can produce a lot of slop and chop, that might keep away some multihulls.

You also don''t see many multihulls for the simple reason that there are so many more used monohull boats available and their accomodations below are usually more comfortable than a comparable multihull.

There is a multihull club for big cats and tris in Toronto. I belives its called the Toronto Mulltihull Club. Big Cats and tris on the great lakes.
