2nd location for HIN on Endeavour 40?

My husband and I are trying to buy an Endeavour 40. The HIN plate has been either broken off or purposely removed from the transom. Does anyone know where the 2nd location of this number would be? We really can't move forward until it is found. Any ideas would be very helpful.

Thank you,
Jen

Jen-

What year is the Endeavour 40 you're looking at. If it is pre-1972, it may not have had a HIN, since they were not required by law until 1972.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Thanks so much for the reply, Sailingdog. The Endeavour is a 1981. I've been reading a few other posts here and will head back over to the boatyard tomorrow to try looking for a Builders Plate near the mast and in the lazzerette. Any other ideas?

Look inside the lockers, since the secondary HIN is often inside one so as not to be easily found. If the boat is USCG documented, you may be able to look up the HIN via the Vessel Name at this WEBSITE.

I hope that helps.
