19'''' Sailboat crosses the Pacific

Did anybody read that story in Sail Magazine about a Japanese kid crossing the pacific ocean in a 19'' sailboat? I think he sailed from Japan to Sandiego California in 1962. The boat looked to be an open bow sailboat. I just caught a glimpse of the story while at a boat dealer the other day.

think you''re discussing Ken''ichi Horie. An interesting man. He wrote a book. He recently did it again landing in S.F. with a replica of his old boat, with a few modifications, made out of wood from beer barrels. He''s got a website somehwere. I never bookmarked it though. It''s worth looking for.
