Boat Donation in Florida?

I have been asked to recommend a good charity to which a friend can donate a boat in Florida. It needs to be a recognized charity or organization for deductibility reasons, etc.

Anyone have any recommendations?

The Chapman School of Seamanship is a non-profit and they take in lots of power and sail boats.

Dunno if you want something that will give you more of a warm fuzzy feeling but I am sure there are other places out there. Not sure how many would take a boat though just because of the hassles of selling it/storing it.

There is an organization called Safe Harbor Boys Home. It takes in young troubled boys and gives them a learning experience. I have worked with the boys and I was really impressed. It is a real good cause. You can check them out on this link Working Together.

Tell them Dave sent you from Green Cove Springs Marina.

Fair Winds and Thanks

Clearwater Marine Science Center is a great organization, full Non-profit. They do a lot of boat donations. I've bought two and donated one.

If it's SW Fl

Consider the Edison Sailing Center!

Send a message via AIM to SailingStNick
There are also plenty of Sea Scout organizations to consider.
