Damn Portugoose.!!!! You are supposed to be voice of madness, for heavens sake, logic and calm reason are not what we expect from you. Now here you go and make the most sensible comment anyone has made on this subject.

For mine, if Alex is content to let this pass the so be it.

Listen to this solo sailor. Weeks alone on the sea have polished his arguments to a high gloss...which is good, because sometimes it goes the other way and the parrot does most of the talking.

To be fair, he is on the finest European painkillers. Short of sending him my excellent vintage port, there is nothing more effective.

Simon,

Point taken. That was really just my way of hinting that I felt there was a misunderstanding. And that they could sort it out on their own. Maybe I should be more blunt?

I didn't delete anything -- even though I'm supposed to remove content like that -- partly, as I said, because it would not resolve the misunderstanding, but also partly because I don't enjoy editing content.

The flip-side is that tomorrow morning I would have several reported posts or PM's asking why that material has not been "moderated". So, darned if I do and darned if I don't. Unless I delete more liberally, it's a no-win situation. But if I took that approach, you and most everybody else would be blissfully unaware and we wouldn't even be having this conversation. That's how it works in a lot of places -- you simply never see the moderated content, so there's nothing to object about.

So while I respect your views, I bristle at the suggestion that my approach is heavy handed. It's a lot more time consuming for me to do it this way, but I think I'm being reasonable. Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion, so no worries mate.
