Question about tradition..

I couldn't find any info on naming a boat..Are there any traditions when naming a boat? Any standards or protocols?

Thanks

easy search...

google "boat naming traditions"...

also, if you search sailnet for "boat names" you'll find several threads in the General Discussion form specifically for naming / renaming boats.

Happy searching...

Start your own traditions, my wife is a classically trained pianist, so our boats have musical themes. First one was Minuet, second Aria, third might be Allegro but that really depends on the boat, we'll have to see. Our next boat will be a lot bigger and faster than our current one so it fits. Unless we buy a PSC or something fat and slow like that.

If you are not the original owner and you are renaming the boat, follow this link Boat re-naming ceremony - Nautical Know How If you are the original owner, just pick a name that fits you, the boat, your life.
