Looking for anything on Manual Campos
I just completed a restoration and refit of a 46'' wooden cutter designed by Manual Campos and commissioned in 1934. She didn''t need much in the way of structural restoration for her scantlings are heavy and she was well constructed. I did extend the boom and bowsprit to what I could determine were her original dimensions and have installed a new interior.
I have tried to contact the Argentine consulate to help me find original documentation and/or line drawings. (No help there.) The rig was modified by Herman Frers in the early 50''s but I don''t have any of the details. I am looking for more information on the history of the Irupe Dos, the yard she was built in, and the designer. I have some correspondents between Mr. Campos and a former owner and her American history but nothing prior to coming to America.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Jonathan
