picked up the sails

from the local repair shop where they have been since November. all the small holes properly patched. reinforced batten sleeves. new lugs. can't wait for a bit of warmer weather. Also I tinker in the old outboards so last year I was running a 1967 6hp Chrysler. Way too new. I have spent a part of the winter going over two good possiblities for my motor this year. One is a 1946 Johnson 5hp and the other is a 1953 Wizard 6hp. I think I'll go with the Wizard. It is more of an oddity, but they are easy to swap out. Last year I started out with a 1955 3hp Evinrude in almost mint condition. Guy at the dock asked me how old it was and I told him. He says does it run. Pushed away from the slip and pulled the rope once and took off. Only thing about these old ones is no gearshift. You need to be headed in the direction you want to go when start them.
