Thumbs down Oil Platforms in Gulf of Mexico, Locations ??

Planning to sail from Corpus Christi Tx to S. Florida. when the weather settles this spring. What little information I have been able to find --using my dial-up connection shows only a handfull of rigs south of Corpus C, But the locations are not plotted. I do have access to high-speed internet at a friends house, if anyone has knowledge of GPS plotted information on oil platforms..........

Take a look here:

U.S. Chart No. 1 -- Part L -- Offshore Installations

And, with that info in hand, study this:

Chart 411 -- Gulf Of Mexico

The platforms are plotted on the charts. But if you want the lease blocks then you may want to use charts 1117A, 1116A or 1115A. These three charts cover the Gulf from Aransas Pass Tx to Mobile Al. You can also go to the BLM site on the net and laborously look for the section that shows every platform out there.
The Platforms are on the charts.
1. They are a navigational aids or hazards. Pending on how you look at them.
2. They represent jobs and energy for America.
3. You need to know so you really don't hit one. Your boat will lose big time.

This is from a person that have spent many years out there. And might, just might have an idea of what he is talking about.
