That's a deal! How did you find that? Was someone putting in a new system?

The Norcold and the sister Engel refrigerators get very good marks from Practical Sailor. I have an Engel MT27 on my boat and not at all surprised at how well they work.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I haven't used Craigslist for nautical stuff, but I have a woodchipper and a guitar and a full-sized MIDI keyboard via it. If I get unhappy with my playing, the last two can go through the first.

I did get a great sextant via eBay, but it wasn't a bargain so much as "priced correctly".

I just sold a norcold Refrig./Freezer. It was an older amonia type system that worked on Propane.12V/110v. I replaced it w/ 2 separate units, a 3 1/2 cu. foot Isotherm refrigerator w/ a 12v danfoss swing compressor and a 5cu. Ft 12v deep freeze (-10f) also w/ a swing compressor.
The Norcold was very power hungry and I wanted to eliminated Propane from inside the boat (still use for the outside grill) Also the location of the old unit did not allow a full opening of the door ! very odd.
The separate units allow me to "adjust" my refrigeration needs and eliminates "traffic" in the larger freezer , saving a bit of energy consumption.
I also sold it on CL $60 the guy wanted it for a cabin and liked the propane option.
It is my understanding that the Norcolds are famous for being power hungry. Maybe the newer units are different.

HF is hit and miss with their quality. Do you know anything about that particular unit?
