Newly Mine on the move north

meandmary are finally going to try to take Newly Mine back to South Carolina.
Could use some expert advice on the upcoming trip. Mary has all the charts, but we've heard some horror stories about the intracoastal north of Jekyll. Weather permitting we hope to head out at St Simon and make the run to Hilton Head. If the weather's bad, we're looking at staying on the waterway. Looking for anyone that might have made the trip recently for advice and Pitfalls?? Thanks to everyone that has sent along previous tips to the new guys.

regards

On my way south this past Nov. I found the water very skinny just north of jekyll island Half of the icw looked like a mud flat. But A CG tug and tow seemed to have no problem. I guess you may want to figure for high tide
