Garmin GMR-18 vs. GMR-18 HD

I'm about to put radar on my 32 foot sailboat and am wondering if the sharper returns of the HD antenna are worth an additional 300 bucks. I'm just looking for traffic situational awareness and don't expect to be navigating close in using the radar. The display will be below and GPS pretty much covers the close in piloting now.

Has anyone seen both displays or have any thoughts?
