billyruffn will become famous soon enough

I'd post this elsewhere but despite of numerous requests, the administrators of the Forum have not yet seen fit to reorganized the Destinations section in a manner that would allow an announcement to only Nor'east sailors (Hint, hint).

For those of you who may be north of the Cape Cod Canal in early September you might consider participating in the Great Provincetown Schooner Race and Yacht Regatta. It's a fun weekend and a great chance to show the kids (old and young) some big schooners under sail by sailing along with them. Last year there were six or seven big schooners in attendance.

The "race" is organized in classes and sailboats of all shapes and sizes "compete". Social events allow crews to 'bend an elbow' Friday and Saturday nights.

Full info is available at The Great Provincetown Schooner Regatta & Yacht Race

In the interest of full disclosure -- My only financial interest in the event is a silver cup. BR finished third in class and second across the line last year. We intend to do better this year, so all of you with fast boats and well-trained crews should stay home.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
