Read the sailing directions of the various countries you will be visiting... and with the Tourist bureaus also. Along with any yachting travel guides you can lay your hands on.

Go to Noonsite.com and read the various pages on the countries you're interested in. It would help to go to the country websites, as Noonsite isn't always up to date... and the laws do change regularly..
