From Catboat to 192

After 10 years of Barnegat Bay sneakboxes and gaff-rigged mini-cruisers I have a 192 O''Day. What should be the main things going through my mind in terms of handling differences. Also the serial number on my new boat is XDYC0466C888. Could anyone out there interpret this code?
