Wow. That's a bit worrisome. Thanks for calling attention.

Note that this potential problem is not limited to ACR products -- ACR is simply helping to apprise folks of the issue, which relates to any brand of EPIRB.

Speaking of which...when I registered mine I never received the decal, and then they wanted to give me flack over that before they'd send a replacement.

Does anyone know the current status of the USCG program that was supposed to have a live EPIRB testing casket in at least one location in each USCG district, so owners could actually bring it in for an operational test?

USCG has failed to respond to an email inquiry about that.

I just

I just double checked on mine and ordered a new decal after changing a couple of phone numbers.

It's a good idea to check your status from time to time as my brothers phone number had changed as a back up contact!
