Angry Help... swing keel feel off.....

Yep... The swing keel is not their.... one day of sailing no problems... the second day we "beached up" for a hour or two then, while sailing the boat it would "feel like she hit a sand bar" but we were in the middle of a deep channel.... a few bangs later the "keel" rope went loose and the noise was gone.

Back at the slip I went under the boat to see what was wrong... and where their should be a swing keep their was nothing.

we are on vacation in Orange beach AL till wednesday (june 24) and will trailer the boat back to Louisiana then.

So... question 1.... can I put my Hunter 23.5 back on the trailer and bring her home or does the keel help keep the boat up while on the trailer?

Question 2... any suggestions on replacing this..... and how to do so......

Thanks

Yes, you can put it back on the trailer. I would highly recommend using straps to hold the boat to the trailer, but would recommend that even if the swing keel hadn't fallen off.

Contact Hunter as a first step.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Thanks, I just was not sure if the keel held up a lot of weight while on the trailer.
