Dinghy camping

I have been reading this blog called "The ChesBay 150, a sailing adventure" where these guys are sailing an open dinghy around the Chesapeake Bay and it made me wonder how many of you take your dinghies on camping adventures away from your boat when you are out cruising ?

Do you ever just toss some camping gear in the dinghy and motor or sail off for a few days at a time to sleep on shore somewhere ?

I have done it for many years before I got my "big" 28 ft boat. I have a little catamaran designed for a porpoise.
15 ft long, 100 sq. ft sail area. I can pull it on shore and pitch a tent; I can anchor it and sleep on a trampoline. I use oar power to propel it when wind dies. I visited all upstate NY big lakes, Maine coast and lakes, Carolinas coast, Lake Michigan, Florida and some other destinations…
Now, I guess, I’m getting older and spend more time drinking beer on my moored “big” boat, and dreaming about THE TRIP, as long as fix this and that, and make enough money, and buy new sails, and solve my shore problems, oh well…
