Boating Tragedy

A fatal accident in Northern California cost one man his life. Officials say the man was speeding across Camp Far West Reservoir at midnight when he lost control of his boat. Our condolences go out to his family. Check out the whole story at Roseville man dies in boating accident at Camp Far West Reservoir -Roseville California News including Rocklin and Placer County. It is boating season, be safe. SMART STAKES is a great site for safety tips.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

And, I'd be willing to bet, neither wearing a PFD nor hooked-up to a shut-off lanyard.

My condolences to the family and friends.

Stating "Darwin in action" might be a bit inappropriate. No matter how stupid he might have been, a man died.

No one forced him to drive a boat across a lake at night at high speed. I'm just glad that he didn't kill any innocent bystanders. He made a choice... and that choice has consequences. I'm getting really tired of people having sympathy for idiots who put themselves and others at danger. There is such a thing as personal responsibility and accountability for one's own actions.

Totally agree, we get the same thing here when some teenagers kill themselves in cars doing something dumb. I always say "well as long as no innocent person was hurt it's now one less idiot out on the roads who might have one day killed me or someone I care about".

Yeah but this guy was old enough to have already sired others with his mentality.
Or you could say that He had already polluted the Gene pool.

I'm sure this will fire everyone up. Is it just me that's noticed or is it that the great unwashed seem to always breed more with more kids then the more educated class?.
