Hilton Head Island vs. Destin, Fla

My family and I are contemplating a move from HHI to the Destin area. I haven't sailed the waters off Destin but would like to hear from some of you who have. The water is definitely clearer there than it is here.... Anyway, any opinions (pros, cons, etc.) of the area would be very much appreciated.

If you sail the Bahamas? My concern would be getting there.......i2f

20 MPH ain't fast unless, you do it in a 1000sq 3/2 house on 10foot waves

I love it...the Hawg on the Redneck Riviera!! There'll be nothin' left of ya but the squeal!!

I don't know much about the area Hawg...but it looks like a great place for sailing...especially if you are hoping for some cruising vacations. Looks like Niceville and Ft. Walton Beach are more sail friendly than Destin itself.
I think Beezer has been through there and might offer some knowledge.

Best of all though Hawg...think Spring Break!!

No longer posting. Reach me by PM!
