Long Island to Nantucket charter?

Hi All,

My girlfriend and I are planning a week in Nantucket end of August and thought it might be more fun to sail there than to fly. Any recommendations for a good charter who does this trip?

Thanks,
Jeff

Budget

As far as budget goes... we're expecting that sailing would cost more than flying from jfk to nantucket but probably wouldn't be up for a gigantic step up from there.

I don't know about chartering, but pricewise you may also want to check into the cost of moorings, and also launch service which is a separately owned service and is NOT included with the mooring.

That being said, I think it's a fun way to experience the island.

Once you step off the launch to land, you're right in town. They have public transportation available in the summer, and that will take you to all kinds of places.

The trip from Long Island is going to take several days unless you are doing an overnight sail or two. That would put a big dent in your week vacation.

You could always look into renting a sailboat while you are there...
