Rental Sailing Club - Should I Join - Beginner - San Diego

I just read an ad for $199 I can join a Harbor Island Yacht club that has about 50 boats 22-42''. The $199 provides a introductory sailing lesson.
They charge $35/month thereafter. I have never sailed but would like to start. Any suggestion/cautions?

Family of 6 - 6,8,9,13yr old. Want to day sail and learn how to sail for upcoming summer week cruise.

Scott

Scott, I''m a big fan of sailing clubs that allow families or individuals to dip their toe in the (sailing) waters before getting further into the sport/lifestyle. But it''s a shame you''d have to do that in the northern end of the Bay, which is oh-so-busy (and buzzy) on weekends, presumably when you''d most likely be out there. If there was an option further south, where IME there is far less boat traffic, it would suit the learning curve much better.

Thank you for your advice. Where is the Southern end of the bay in your mind?

I saw another site http://seaforthboatrental.com/prices.html where I could rent that has locations in Coranado. Would this be a better choice?

Thanks for your help. Scott
