Skippered Charters in SF Bay Area

My wife and I are heading to SF on October 1 and will be there for a few days. We'd like to get a sail in on the bay, but don't want to bareboat it for several reasons, most of which we only want to go out for a few hours and just want to relax and not sail the boat if we don't want to.

I have checked out some charter companies that have skipper sails, but it's like $5-600 for 4 h on a boat that holds 6. We wouldn't mind going out with another couple, but don't know how to pursue this.

Any ideas on a good chartered skippered organization in SF Bay and how to find "other" crew for expense sharing?

If you want to sail fast, and flat. Check out Adventure Cat. They are at pier 39, so they are very convenient. They use to let you go if it's your birthday for free. I did this three years in a row, but we always brought along the birthday party too.

You won't regret the sail. Also Fleetweek is early October, and the weather is extremely splendid most of the month. BEST WISHES ,and take lots of pics.......i2f

You might want to consider contacting OCSC (www.ocscsailing.com). They should be able to hook you up with their crew list. Another option is they're giving a Night Sailing class on October 3rd for $95 per person.
