Anyone going to the SSCA Gam in Annapolis?

This will be our first SSCA function and it would be fun to get to meet people behind the postings here. We will be coming by boat and anchoring at the camp (gray, centre cockpit Bristol 45.5)

Probably won't be at the SSCA, although we are members, may not be in the area. We're having a SailNet gathering the Friday night of the boat show you might consider - check out the thread in Ches. Bay in the Destinations forum. BTW, sounds like we'll be southbound the same time as you?

We are a maybe, but a doubtful maybe at best.

For folks unsure of the date, FYI it is scheduled September 25-27.

If coming by boat, be advised that "High Island" has eroded away and ever since Hurricane Isabel it is now completely awash except at the lowest tides. Maybe the latest charts reflect this (my older chart book does not).

They have placed a couple small white buoys over the shoal area, but be cautious as it can be somewhat deceptive if you are unfamiliar with the anchorage.

I will check on the Sailnet gathering - thanks for the heads-up.

We are going to the Virgin Islands from the Chesapeake. If the weather window does not look good on November 2-3, we may go down the ICW as far as Beaufort and go off from there.
