sailing the americas

I am looking for any information i can get on sailing from bc, canada, down and around the americas up into the states. no panama canal. Anyone that has made such a journey can tell me roughly how long it would take?

You might want to check out the book by Jimmy Cornell: World cruising routes.

Obviously there are a lot of variables and the route you are inquiring about is a very difficult route.
Cruising sailors typically choose specific windows and specific routes that work well and are mostly downhill (with the wind and currents).
