Take pictures. Are you going to put a coin under the mast when you put the stick back in? I have a neat little story about a coin under the mast. We were looking at a Norseman 447 for sale around the time we bought Nikko. I did some research and found that a previous owner also lived in Skagit County and I got in touch with him and asked him about the boat's history. He related to me that he had put a gold coin under the mast when he owned it. We made an offer on the boat but were beat out by someone else. The new owners were going to truck the boat down to California. We put the old owner in touch and he was there when they pulled the stick and got his gold coin back.

brian you can use the extra time to figure out how to accidentally break the bread maker. i would go hook it up to 220v and fry it, then put it back. when you get to florida do some equipment shake downs and discover that the bread maker does not work.

good luck in texas, and give Chase a good handshake with a congrats for me

Pfft... she would just go buy another one. Not that easy, I am afraid. More so, I will have to watch the thing with my life because if anything happens to it, my fault or not, I will now catch the heat given my comments on it!!

Ahh, no worries. We will work through it.

I tell you what is really funny, though. We boxed up everything to go to the boat and go with us. H-OLY Crap!!! I have no clue where we are going to put all this stuff. Dad just looks at it and laughs!!! I see some hard choices coming (but the bread machine will end up staying, I'm sure!!).

Yes, it is always good practice to take pics. I didn't think about the coin. So, if it is not a gold coin (since I am a broke sailing-dad), how much luck can I buy with a Susan B Anthony? What about a .50 piece? Wooden Nickle?

Come on, Ray - I need to know what I get for my money!

My guess is that the amount of luck will not vary with the coin. It might affect whether it's good luck or bad luck though.

The purchase price of a boat is just the admittance fee to the dance...you still have to spend money on the girl...so court one with something going for her with pleasing and desirable character traits others desire as well... or you could find yourself in a disillusioned relationship contemplating an expensive divorce.

Brian,

Sorry that we didn't get to meet while I was in Ft Myers (but I got it all warmed up for ya ).

It sounds like your plans, like any good battle plan, have gone out the window with the first shot. Remember that the difference between an ordeal and an adventure is attitude.

I (I'm sure everyone here) look forward to all the pix, and the continued updates.

Fair winds, and enjoy the bread!

Guys - let's shut up about the coin. According to Wikipedia

Quote:
If some could not pay the fee they were said to haunt those who did not put the coin on their departed bodies eyes.
So if he forgets the coin, he'll be stuck hanging around Sailnet, and we won't lose him!!!
