Hey BS,

Didn't we just go through a whole thing here on sailnet where the old timers got castigated for telling newbies that they should search the archives because the issue had already been discussed ad nauseum.

While I agree that there is a lot of good info in the archives, what is the point of a forum if you aren't willing to answer the newbie's questions and welcome them here?

NautiG, I stay away from off topic and politics I must have missed that. I was not slamming him, I just dont have the time to pull it up for him and thought he may not know it is there. Just passing along info

BS,

I stay away from that stuff too. But sometimes I get drawn into the politics of sailnet, as some of the moderators and others can attest.

The search function for sailnet is notoriously awful. I think it's best to provide a link to a thread that answers a newbie's question, or to answer it yourself.

My answer was terse, as was the newbie's question. I would have answered in more detail if he asked, but apparently he is gone. At least for the time being.

Only issue with the bowltenna is that it's directional.. you have to aim it at the remote point. Every time there is a wind shift, current shift, etc. you're going to be re-aiming it.
