It's a sad thing. It seems I heard a story once where a man in the UK, cut down a tree in his yard and used the wood to build a shed. I guess the local government took the shed and he ended up in jail for 90 days. You could probably still do something like this in Eastport Maine, but down south, not a chance.

To the nay sayers out there, I know of such an arrangement in Fl. There are about a half -dozen boats at the dock , with storage , bathrooms, and guest rooms in the house. The facility is used by the multiple owners but not sublet. It is in a residential neighborhood and to the best of my knowledge, has never had problems with the neighbors or the government .
