Grasshopper,

Are you even trying to take this pebble from my hand?

With the economy finally starting to look up (at least for our business), I'll be able to fly out your way pretty soon to try for some of those pebbles. Just remember, when I show up at your slip with a shaved head and dragon scars on my forearms...you asked for it!

Ah, Grasshopper,

Economy in the hopper means “delay in cruise” to the dreamer. We at the temple know it all too well. We came close to upgrading the temple to a Sabre 40 before the crash, but neither the high priestess nor I wanted to delay our own vision quest so we are now keeping and upgrading our current temple. Cervezas frío on the playa are still a few years away but we contend ourselves by sailing most weekends. When to go is loaded with personal questions – how much do you need for financial security? What are you family obligations? And such. No matter what, you need to always make positive progress towards your goal(s) no matter what they are? Are you laying down a serious cruising kitty? Is your family on board?

We in the temple are heartened to hear that it is only a dream delayed and not one that was abandoned. Because, frankly, I’ve been talking to Master Po and Master Kan and we were all concerned that you would never leave the temple!

I think the important thing is to be persistent.

Dreams are nice, but reality is what it is. I think it is important to be persistent so you can keep learning and doing what you need to do to modify your own point of view until it aligns up pretty well with reality, which may take some time if you don't have any idea what you are doing. The ocean is too big to change, so we have to change. Reality doesn't care much what we think of it.

Reality is.
