Let's see a picture of your Sailing Pet!!!

Ok, I will start this thing off.

Here is our current Four Legged sailor:

She is ferocious (when she is awake long enough) and would take your leg off (if she was not scared of everything, including her shadow).

She loves the boat because she can sleep more and be interrupted less. The nice thing about her (as you can see in the picture below) is that should thge boat go down, she is so fat that she would be a great floatational aid. In fact, I hope to be able to talk the USCG into letting her count as our throwable!!! HEHE!

THe next picture is of dad's dog (the black schnauzer) and Scooter (our late schnauzer). THis picture was taken right before we had to put him down. Me and Scooter went on a long, and final, sail together before going to the vet. It was tough!!! I won't lie. I loved that old mutt. And he loved sailing and boating more than any dog I have ever known. He used to dride for hours in the tender behind us going down the ICW. He always stared back there, even to his last day, looking for the tender to hop in.

Anyways, everyone feel free to post their four (or two) legged friends here. They are a part of the family, as any animal lover wil know.

Brian

Gooday Brian,
Great Photos. I think kids need pets around and when you see them literally 24/7, they get closer to you. These are of 'Minke', ships cat.

She spent her first 3 years on a boat, 2 yrs off and now back on, where she belongs. We also have a staffy, which hates the boat and is better cared for in the style to which she has become accustomed ( at my parents place - spoilt rotten!)
Cheers
David

Still,
we all need cute crew members. Pets might be as close as we get to this requirement! They will make good slippers one day as well.

And there was this goofball ( Monkeybutt) who got a little too close to the porthole when I hit reverse; he became the first trophy on my trophy wall

Here are both of my pets during an early fall sail around the bay.

Katie ready to hit the beach.

The Admiral cleaning Katie's PFD after she found a dead salmon to roll on. She couldn't understand what the big deal was. Taking the dink to get some photos of Cirrus was a good excuse to get away from the odor.

After a thorough inspection of the inside of a bag of charcoal before the BBQ is lit just to prevent possible spontaneous combustion, you understand

After a long and arduous watch

And this is the one that is really in charge, even has staff!! He is known as a chocolate silver "gene 1 ocicat"

We have brought both up from very small with sailing and they're both real comfortable on the boat.
