Interesting Day

So today here in MN is a wonderful fall day. Good wind, sunshine and temps in the 60's. Seemed like it would be a perfect day to get out on the lake. Unfortunately all the boats are off the water now. You never know around here, it could be in the 60's like today or we could be getting a foot of snow this time of year. Was a bit bitter sweet to have such a nice day as I was wishing I was out on the water. Well, I will live vicariously through those of you that are on the coasts and in warmer climates until spring when I can get out. I will do one thing tonight, I wll enjoy some bourbon and a cigar on my deck and think of sailing.

I feel for you part-timers... here's a few images to aid your imagination as you sip your bourbon and puff that cigar! Enjoy

Long Island NY is warmer than MN, I sailed yesterday. I also have trailer boats to sail on warm winter days. If you can, get something small and inexpensive to launch anytime. Just dress warm.

We did our last club race of the year yesterday. I have sailed this one in snow and sleet, this year, shorts and t's. You can never tell.

I just love living in Florida. My two "vices," motorcycling and sailing, are year round activities. I did a short 3 hr solo sail this morning, tacking up the ICW and then a fast reach back home. I just got back from a short 20 mile motorcycle ride.

Life is good.

Nice day, sounds like, but up here you can do all that and throw in a couple of runs in at a local ski hill too!

The purchase price of a boat is just the admittance fee to the dance...you still have to spend money on the girl...so court one with something going for her with pleasing and desirable character traits others desire as well... or you could find yourself in a disillusioned relationship contemplating an expensive divorce.

Dirtboy - You are killin me, considering I spent part of the nice day here wrenching on my snow blower. Found out I get to buy a $4.37 spring but it will cost me $8.50 to ship it to me. Yeah, love that.

WanderingStar - As far as trailering goes, don't have much room in the yard to keep and if ya got a trailerable you need something to tow it. Doubt my 98 Neon could do that. Anyway, Only 5 months til spring.....
