Production boat crash testing

This is a couple years old but I have never seen it..

I'm wondering what if any other production boats do grounding tests or fall testing as Hobie did here.

On a side note this is the first time I have ever heard Warren Millers voice on anything but his own Ski Movies...Dang I miss that.

Hunter has been crash testing all their new designs for about 10 years now.

I believe it was Dehler that used to show a video of crash testing at boat shows - saw it at the Sidney (B.C.) floating show years ago. Yes it is impressive, but I wonder what a haulout would show afterwards.

I'm keeping a detailed log of all the crashes I subject my C27 to. She's holding up remarkably well.

I like to keep the wife on her toes by running into random shoals. We were coming out of Garrison Bay almost to Mosquito Pass and I was looking at the scenery instead of the sounder. Went from six knots down to zero knots in about 15 feet. Got to wave at boaters going by for the next three hours wondering if our boat had a kickstand or something.

Still need to dive on it to see how much bottom paint I knocked off. I just put it on too.

Did that "scenery" you were looking at include sand and bikinis? Yep, I feel ya bro.

I hear ya Steve. That is what I do when I run the C400 into the docks. It is not bad docking techniques, I am crash testing her. You would think after all these years my wife would know that!!!!
