Never heard of it. But if you want to try something different and actually very simple and effective. You might want to consider a tiller comb.

This one....

Wavefront Marine - The TillerClutch

Note: Just looks like a variant of the tiller tamer.

Here's an example of the "Cajun Tiller Tame": Cajun Tiller Tamer

And here's my personal product review of Davis Marine's Tiller Tamer: Sailing s/v Island Bound: Taming your tiller

I was about to send you the same pix that Walt sent above.
Used a length of bungee cord for ours - works great!!!

I like my Tillerlock.
No chance of slipping.

Let me tell you about the is wonderful!! One of the biggest differences that i like about it from the tiller tamers is the quick are not having to tighten or loosen anything with it...just a quick click and it's if you get in a bind and need to release, it only takes a is also much more durable, very well made...go to the Wavefront Marine site and read about it...everything is is small but can take what it has to to handle your tiller for you...the sail community that i am part of love it...we have several who are using it and would not go back to any other method of taming their tiller. Worth every dollar!!!!

Hah the cajun setup owns. Makes all of this silly business with bits of plastic seem a bit stupid.

kokopelli9 02-26-2010 12:58 PM
