OK You Slackers - Now Hear This !!

Really peoples this has been disappointing to say the least. Surely some of you have got IPhones ? Come on now, give it a go.

See the Competition Post - Its a sticky.

Whats more Digital Forge have sweetened the deal.

Now the winners - hey at this rate probably also the losers - will receive both.....

Navstation and SailSim.

iPhone Apps from The Digital Forge - Sailing, Navigation, Travel, Music, Education, Games

I'd do it myself but it only applies to those of you in the US.

Talking Disconnected

tdw,
Some of us ( and I suspect you may be one) don't find any virtue in being connected to the world 24-7. I don't have an I-Phone or a Blackberry -- I do have a cell phone but it stays home when l sail. I don't ban cellphones but they have to be off before my boat leaves the dock.
I already get navigation data from my GPS and its friends and they only speak when spoken to.
Anyway one of the things that I love about sailing is the peace and quiet and I-phones, Blackberries, cell phones are the antithesis of peace and quiet.

Three years ago, while tapping out a message on my dingleberry in the middle of Penobscot Bay, my wife's hand reached over, grabbed it, and literally tossed it overboard. Now, I have a new dingleberry, but can't say I've brought it on board since...

I just went out on a beautiful november day of sailing so cal, had 5 younger women on board , everyone of them , saying how beautiful it was while noses down tapping away-- great idea for the ban on cell phones .. think I'll make it my standing rule as well

Hey I tell you what. I do empathise with the anti phone brigade. I had one of those Motorola flip top V thingys and it died on me. Ran into phone dealer , bought the cheapest handset they had on offer with the full intention of upgrading at a later date. That was two years ago.

I must admit , I really did think that an awful lot of you would have IPhones. I'm almost impressed that you don't.

But a bloke cannot have too many GPS's , can he ?
