Island Trader water tank leak

I can''t find a list for Island Traders so thought I''d use this forum instead. A friend who lives at the same liveaboard marina as I do has this problem of a water tank leak, and it seems unfixable as the tank was built into the boat during construction and there doesn''t seem anyway to get at the problem or to replace the tank. The boat is a 1976, 37'' Island Trader. Has anyone had this problem or known anyone who has?

I nearly bought an IT 37, but it could not pass survey. Lots of rot in cabin sole, bulkheads, deck, etc. Lovely boats though!
