Yeah. You know that, Dawg. I know that. But what if the person with the thermometer doesn't know that? What if they want to take the temperature of mah LIVER? What if they pick up the cordless drill by mistake? Best not to chance it.
BTW, some countries are using cheap handheld IR thermometers (or fancier versions) to scan the faces of passengers as they file thru airport customs or security, looking for potential influenza carriers. Probably a smart idea. Although like David, some guy in uniform 'dotting' my forehead would probably make me dive under a table screaming. I grew up in New Yawk, ya know?
