Prosciutto? The real stuff is air cured so if you got a whole one it should keep. Salami and other cured sausages also keep w/o refrigeration. (the mold on the outside is edible).

Great idea for a thread!

My first thought is: what is something that a lot of people do that involves cooking without refrigeration? Backpacking is the first thing that springs to mind, so goggling "gourmet backpacking meals" will lead to many great ideas and recipes.

I would look in to canning. You can get a pressure cooker, a bunch of jars, and experiment with different meats to see which can the best. You can also add spices, oil or water, etc for different results. When you're in port, you can resupply yourself with whatever meat is available locally.

There are many good suggestions here, BUT, I know there are many gourmet chefs out there. I've seeing you at the helm............none too emaciated.

Are the lady's on 'hersailnet' doing all the cooking?
