Serious bummer. I just saw "Morning Light" with our kids a few days ago.

RIP Roy.

jackdale will become famous soon enough
I saw the current version of Pyewacket on the hard in San Diego a couple of weeks ago. Many years ago I had a tour of the Santa Cruz 70 version in Honolulu.

Not even sure that major bummer is a good way to put it, or words for that matter!

It is indeed a sad day when we see someone leave us who was so dedicated to advancing the sport we all love, someone who put his money where his mouth is in terms of generating much-needed excitement and interest among the young. There are far too few of his equal out there.

Bit short I guess but it looks like he lived a full life...can't ask much more than that.

Salute

RIP Roy

Roy was a great sailor and did as much as he possibly coud to promote the sport of sailing. Roy will be missed. Everyone should see the documentary Morning Light that he produced about sailing the Trans-Pacific Race, also know as Transpac. Disney's owned legendary boats named Pyewacket
