4 boats have sunk around Annp. this week most likely do to not closeing there sea cocks. I went down to clean my boat of and also cleaned off my neighbors boat and he told me he left his sink **** open.
What works for me is to open close the seacock, open the drain plug and blow out the body with compressed air. No water in the valve, no freezing problem- We wet store ours. All hoses should be either dry or filled with antifreeze (potable type).
I do leave the cockpit drain cocks open. No problems so far (the river doesn't freeze where we are).
