can you screw the white oil filter off & saw off the top ? then you pull out the element & unfold it to look for metal chips. take off the oil filler cap to see if water is dripping off it. that would indicate water in the oil. does it have compression when you turn it over by hand? check the oil in the tranny. you cant really tell what it is worth till you know something about it.

That looks like a 3GM30 Yanmar fresh water cooled, to my eye. The front mounts have been changed from original. Might be worth more sold as parts on Ebay than as a working engine.
