Good luck with the tying and the drugging. CES ain't nothing compared to whiteknuckling out of a marina!
hey, me an m' bowline can do ANYTHING!

And I know I am going to regret this but... what is 'CES'?

My plan right now is to finish some work on the boat this weekend while Himself is still in Vegas at a trade show, and then drag his arse out for a 3 day sail to the north bay starting next thursday. If I have to tie him up and drug him... he is worse than a barn shy horse... just can't get him to turn the dock lines loose!

I keep pointing out to the man that if he doesn't reach down and get a firm grip and actually white knuckle his way out of the marina he will NEVER learn to sail, and all we will have is a small condo on the water.

I just remind him he does not want to be a fornicating cat! He takes that better than the more vulgar version ; -)
If you ain't prepared to cut the lines yourself and horse your way out of the slip on your own, then he ain't the only frightened feline on board.

Don't use him as your excuse, instead work together to find a solution. Or head out on your own, and eventually he will elbow you away from the helm. It's just like the remote control for the tv at home. He absolutely has to hold it in his hand, so that he feels he is in charge, but you are the one who decides what you watch.

Excuse? wow, have no idea where that came from. I can take her out alone, but the point is for us to do it together... which means Himself has to participate. He will never become comfortable sailing until he gets enough leagues under his belt!

heh... and I don't watch TV...
