Actually this is a question???????? I want to knwow more about the names''materials used,purpose etc. of the sails used on ships through out the history of sailing (from the beginning) any tips on good books places to look on the internet??????????? thank yall,yawl so much conrd conrat66@cs.com

Well, it''s been said that when man first used a log to cross a waterway, he had invented boating. When he stood on his log and used the power of the wind to move himself, he had invented sailing. And when he arrived at the shore which the wind had pushed him to, he had invented cruising. I suppose that is a starting point.
