Meet the Luckiest Sailor Alive

This is freakin' amazing:

Meet the luckiest sailor alive

Ignore this post if you want to. Just discovered SmackDaddy Posted a Link to it in the Beyond the Edge thread about three hours before I posted.

I know how to edit a post - but can it be deleted - just because you're embarrassed?

In Clement's own words; "I told God that I would believe in Him until my last breath" and "By the grace of God I found the life raft". It sounds to me that God was listening.

I know that nowadays it's politically incorrect, in some circles, to express a belief in God. However, when you listen to Clement's story (his manually activated EPIRB was mounted backwards and never should have been triggered and his bumping into a life raft when visability was almost nonexistent) you have to take pause and consider that perhaps it was devine intervention that saved his life.

I am reminded of the old saying that "There are no athiests in a fox hole". Perhaps the same could be said of sailors in distress.

That is damn good luck. I would say go buy a lotto ticket, but even winning the lotto pales in comparison.

Explain to me the logic of having a magnetic switch on the cradle to keep the unit from activating? Is it to allow for mounting on deck and not having rain or waves set it off? I am flipping mine when I get to the boat next.

A wave holed the port side??
